On the edge of the dunes and just 2km from Efteling

Landal Kaatsheuvel opened in October 2019 and we are excited to feature it in our collection of baby and toddler friendly parks. Landal resorts are known for their high quality accommodation and child friendly facilities as well as being in beautiful nature and close to family days out. It’s no surprise then that Landal have chosen to open their newest park on the edge of one of the most unique areas of natural beauty in the Netherlands (the Loonse en Drunense sand dunes), just 2km from Efteling fairytale theme park and 25 minutes from Beekse Bergen Safari Park.

This holiday park with 104 holiday homes is perfect for families who want to be close to Efteling but also have a calm base in nature to return to at the end of the day. The holiday park has an indoor pool with a separate paddling pool area for babies and toddlers, and both indoor and outdoor play areas. Given the close proximity to Kaatsheuvel town (a 10 minute drive or a 30 minute walk) with its restaurants, shops and bars, there is no restaurant or supermarket on park although there is a mini shop for daily essentials in the main park reception. There is also a restaurant 15 minutes walk away on the edge of the dunes.

This is a wonderful region for cycling and you can take advantage of the extensive bike hire on the park and you could even cycle to Efteling as it’s only a 10 minute bike ride away.

Accommodation

Brand new and high quality holiday houses sleeping from 4 to 12 people. These are like proper houses with fully equipped kitchens including dishwashers, and spacious living and sleeping areas. They all have flat screen TV and free wifi.

You can choose a more luxury model which are slightly larger and come with a sauna and a washing machine.

“Nature and Efteling”

Lovely new villas. 15 mins bike ride to Efteling and 10 walk to restaurant. Nice pool with toddler pool and steam room. Sand dunes and beautiful and worth a visit. Comfy beds, very spacious and good decor. Would recommend and would be happy to visit again.

Cot, high chair and stair gates are provided in all accommodation. Children’s themed holiday homes are available with extra safety features, child sized furniture, toys and games.

To Do

Holland is full of surprises, it even has a desert! The Loonse and Drunense National Park is just around the corner…These are the largest inland sand dunes in Europe. Go and have a picnic, build some sandcastles or just take in this area of natural beauty. With direct access to the dunes, Restaurant De Roestelberg is just a 15 minute walk from the park or Grand Cafe Sands with its brasserie and play area is just a 20 minutes walk away.

Within a 30 minute drive you can visit the vibrant cities of Tilburg, Breda and den Bosch with their shops, restaurants and picturesque water ways.

Beekse Bergen Safari Park and Speelland play zone are just 25 minutes drive away. Here you can choose to explore the wild and wonderful animals with your own car, on foot, boat or by taking one of the scheduled bus trips. This wonderful safari park won’t fail to fill your toddlers with fabulous memories as they spot the wild animals en route. It’s even free for children up to 3 years old.

As with everywhere in the Netherlands, nothing is far away. Amsterdam to the north is only 1h15 away and Utrecht with its Miffy Museum and Train Museum is under an hour away.
