Landal Volendam

Imagine somewhere which was only half an hour from Amsterdam and under an hour from beautiful, sandy beaches, including the beach resort of Egmond aan Zee where Miffy was born. Somewhere close to the famous tulip fields. And somewhere where you could visit clog and cheese factories, eat fresh eel and see windmills! Landal Volendam ticks all these boxes! It is a new and unique holiday park, perched on the shores of the Markermeer lake where you can stay in authentic Dutch houses. This is an area with Dutch culture and traditions in bucket loads, ready and waiting to be discovered!

The popular fishing village of Volendam and the yacht harbour are within walking distance (a 10-15 minute walk). Here you will find restaurants, cafes, a cheese factory and plenty of spots to sit and watch the boats. Have your photo taken in traditional dress along de Dijk or catch the Marken Express over to the pretty village of Marken, famous for its authentic wooden houses on stilts and its clog factory.

Landal Volendam is a laid back, child friendly park with spacious, modern houses where you can have fresh bread delivered in the morning and enjoy your breakfast looking out onto the lake and dipping your toes in from your jetty. There are also houses set back from the water with open grassy areas to run around and play.

Swimming is possible in the Markermeer lake as well as in two local (payable) pool complexes; the Recreatie Centrum Het Slobbeland (open summer only) a few minutes walk away which has play areas an outdoor pool and a spectacular view of the Markermeer, and De Waterdam in Volendam which has indoor and outdoor pools and slides.

Do as the Dutch do, hire bikes and take in the surroundings on wheels. This area is perfect for family bike rides and bike hire is possible from the park. Cycle along the cycle paths, through fields, with views of cows, sheep, windmills and the beautiful countryside or take a trip to nearby Edam and visit the cheese market!

This is a fantastic base for taking in so much of what the Netherlands has to offer. Enjoy fun packed days out before returning to the peace and quiet of Landal Volendam.
