Let us introduce you to Landal De Strabrechtse Vennen in Noord-Brabant. This holiday park only opened its doors in summer 2024 and is an excellent location for those seeking great accommodation and easy access to some of the most popular days out in the area, including Efteling, Beekse Bergen and Toverland. The entire park is centred around a recreational lake and an additional lake known as ‘the pond’. The nature in the surrounding area stretches far beyond the immediate environment and includes excellent cycling/walking routes amongst some of the Netherlands’ most beautiful national parks.

Being a new park, time will be needed for it to come into its full glory as the trees and plants mature and grow, creating even more privacy and a sense of natural surroundings. De Strabrechtse Vennen suits families who are looking for a great base in a calming environment with plenty of home comforts. If spending the day enjoying the sandy lakeside beach, building sandcastles and pottering in the water appeals then this is a wonderful location for you. There is a selection of activities available including a climbing wall, small indoor play and a lovely heated pool. For the sportier visitors amongst you, why not try your hand a spot of padel, football or basketball.

The accommodation is beautifully set out around the lake and pond, some of which is directly on the water. The range of accommodation is quite exciting at De Strabrechtse Vennen with some including a spa swimming pool, wood-fired hot tubs, and for families, the fenced houses with trampolines in the garden are just the ticket!

The beauty of this park is that you can enjoy modern accommodation within a peaceful and restful environment. With so many places of interest nearby and exciting family days out, it can be a bonus to know you have the option of rest at the end of your day. After all of your adventures, why not enjoy a meal at the park restaurant, or relax in your own holiday home and dine al-fresco in your garden, having stocked up at the on-site shop. The region of Noord Brabant is well known for its culinary delights and proud of its cuisine, so popping out to a local restaurant to taste some of the regional delights is also an option if you prefer to leave the washing up for someone else when on holiday!

There is a selection of modern lodges which can sleep from 4 to 20 people. Some of the luxury and extra luxury accommodation types offer additional facilities such as swimming spa, wood- fired hot tub, sauna, outdoor kitchen, whirlpool and washing machine/dryer.

“Super Landal Site – Brand New Luxury Accommodation.”

This a smart, brand new Landal site with the most luxurious accommodation! We stayed in a 12 person house and it was fab! The site is gorgeous, with a sandy beach, and a few little play areas dotted amongst the houses too!

All accommodation types include a camping bed and high chair (requested at time of booking).

The 6 person bungalows with fenced garden and trampoline have additional features including washing/dryer, playpen, play mat, child safe electric sockets, a chalkboard and beanbag.

To Do

For an adventure play farm like you’ve never seen before, 55 mins over the border into Germany, go to Irrland. It is a huge play farm with more slides than we have seen anywhere, hay bales, a large paddling pool and even a “sweetcorn pool”, a huge indoor play room filled knee deep with dried sweetcorn!

Toverland is an attraction park with all the large rides and rollercoasters you would come to expect (including Troy which reaches speeds of 90 km/h and is the fastest in the Netherlands). There is still plenty to do for the younger members of the family too and it’s just 25 mins away.

You can’t visit Noord Brabant without a trip to Efteling theme park. This super family friendly day out really has something for everyone. There are the big thrill rollercoasters, a magnificent water show and the famous, magical, fairytale forest for starters. Soon you will realise this is more than a theme park and around each and every corner there is something new and wonderful to enjoy and discover. Efteling is just under an hour away.

Beekse Bergen Safari Park and Speelland play zone are just 45 minutes drive away. Here you can choose to explore the wild and wonderful animals with your own car, on foot, boat or by taking one of the scheduled bus trips. This wonderful safari park won’t fail to fill your toddlers with fabulous memories as they spot the wild animals en route. It’s even free for children up to 3 years old.

Visit the 11th century medieval, Heeze Castle which is only 10 minutes away. You can explore the castle itself, take a guided tour or take time to explore the beautiful gardens.

Fancy a spot of shopping at discounted prices? Designer Outlet Roermond is 45 mins away and has a large selection of designer brands and some great restaurant options. The city of Roermond can be easily combined with the outlet centre and has a pretty square lined with terraces where you can sample the delicious vlaai (cake) typical for this region.
