Dormio Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad is located in Zeeland province, an area of the Netherlands well known for its stunning beaches. In fact you can enjoy 17 kilometres of beautiful sandy beaches across the province, which have often been recognised for being the cleanest in the Netherlands and have been awarded blue flag status for the quality of the swimming water. The resort is just over the border from Belgium and just over half an hour from the ever popular city of Bruges.

This is regarded as a luxury resort offering excellent accommodation, some with specific characteristics such as kids’, wellness, dog and pool houses. We love that extra care has been given to the kids’ houses which are located in the kids’ quarter. These houses in particular have fenced gardens and are adjacent to playgrounds or have their own private fenced playground, with both options giving you the peace of mind of being able to keep and eye on your children whilst allowing them to play and explore safely. Dormio has taken great care when considering how to create a sustainable resort, with each holiday house having solar panels, electric charging point for cars at almost all accommodation types and no gas used throughout.

You will also find a play beach with play equipment next to the restaurant terrace, allowing children to stretch their legs whilst they await their meal or giving you the chance to enjoy some well deserved grown up time as they happily play and meet new friends. You can of course cook in the comfort of your holiday house which all have well equipped kitchens and for your shopping essentials, the mini-market has you covered. For breakfast you can enjoy their bakery goods and for a quick meal, the snack bar is super handy.

Children can join in the regular entertainment provided during bank holidays and holiday periods at the Mio kids club, and you will also find a play loft where children are free to use the play equipment provided. There are certainly plenty of places to let off some steam with the outdoor play areas too. If you’re looking to take a dip in the pool you’ll be happy to hear that this resort has both an indoor and outdoor heated pool and a toddler pool indoors. For those of you who never tire of swimming then perhaps a house with its very own indoor pool is just right for you, or a wellness house that has an outdoor hot tub.

“Great stay with great service and great staff”

Great cottage which we enjoyed with 3 families. Especially the indoor pool in the house is an experience. The house was very clean and equipped with every service. The staff are nice and helpful to guests. This Resort definitely recommended for quality and service.

We had a new and superbly equipped house (great kitchen with two sinks, oven, stove and fridge) with plenty of space for our large family and everyone, including our little ones, felt very comfortable there. Playgrounds, small indoor pool and the proximity to the sea are just great! Nice staff! We have already booked again for next year!

Baby & Toddler Friendly

Themed children’s houses are great for young children with specially designed furniture, a lovely playhouse/play kitchen in the living area and playgrounds either adjacent or attached to them. Some of these houses also have fenced gardens. These also include a stairgate, high chair and cot.

A cot and high chair can be added to your booking for an extra charge in the other accommodation types.

To Do

The small town of Nieuwvliet Bad is 1.8km away (a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk)

Cadzand beach and resort is just 5 minutes drive away (40 minute walk).

The Pierewiet Play Farm 2km away just outside of Nieuwvliet town. This combines indoor and outdoor play areas with a small farm and an arts and crafts area. Plenty to keep the little ones busy if you fancy a change from the beach.

The Toversluis indoor play park 13km away in Sluis is perfect for a rainy day.

The Ostrich farm 13km away in Sluis.

The Mini Mundi amusement park, indoor play with special area for children aged 0-4 and miniature park, 64km away in Middelburg.

You are also very close to the Belgian border here and the fairytale city of Bruges is only 30km away. The Zwin nature park on the Dutch Belgian border is also well worth a visit with its educational bird watching opportunities as well as interactive bird feeding sessions. There is an activity playground there too.

Plopsaland theme park on the Belgian Coast is 1 hour drive away.

Enjoy the charm of Bruges, its canals, chocolate and waffles over the border into Belgium and just over 30 minutes away.
