A stunning park close to the German border with indoor and outdoor pools and slides
De Twee Bruggen holiday park in the east of the Netherlands, close to the German border, has a lot to offer for all ages!
Located by a river in the beautiful Achterhoek region, close to forests, lakes, streams and vineyards, this child friendly park is the place to go for fresh air, unspoilt nature and some lovely food and wine! With excellent pools and play areas on the park and plenty of family days out within an hour drive there is enough to keep children of all ages occupied.
De Twee Bruggen is less than an hour from Movie Park theme park in Germany which has over 40 attractions and a 40 minute drive through the German forests will take you to the Wildpark Frankenhof adventure play park. Here you can find animals, a huge play area and a troll land with magical climbing mushrooms!
This is a fairly large holiday park which has recently undergone many improvements including a new gym and a completely renovated swimming pool area. With new indoor and outdoor pools (both heated) including 4 waterslides, a splash pool for toddlers with little play features and a jacuzzi and sauna for relaxing, it is easy to see how you might want to spend a lot of your holiday in the pool area.
If you fancy a change from the pool you can take a 5 minute drive (or walk) to the Slingeplas recreational lake which has a gently shelving lake, sandy beach and play areas.
De Twee Bruggen is extremely child friendly and has lots of playgrounds dotted around. Next to the terrace of Restaurant de Schoppe is the large main play area with climbing equipment, ropes, swings and slides. There is even a large jumping pillow where children can bounce to their hearts’ content. Little ones will love playing and digging in the sand and playing with the water pump. There are also small animal enclosures where children can get close to their furry friends!
Elsewhere on the park you can try your hand at bowling, have a family mini golf session or hire bikes to explore the local area. For the more active there is even a running path, perfect for an early morning run before settling back to enjoy some freshly baked bread or croissants for breakfast from the park shop!
De Twee Bruggen has a selection of bungalows, chalets and lodge tents as well as grassy camping pitches for your own tents or caravans.
Eurocamp offers a selection of 3 bedroom Comfort Plus, 3 bedroom Premium and 3 bedroom Ultimate Holiday Homes. These sleep between 6 and 8 persons. They are modern and comfortable with an open plan living area and air-conditioning. Both the Comfort Plus and Premium Holiday Homes have a partially covered outdoor terrace for extra outdoor living. The Premium Holiday Homes also feature lounge decking and the Ultimate has a fully covered decking, bed linen, towels and beds made up prior to arrival.
“The best just got better”
I have stayed at this excellent site perhaps ten times in recent years either with family or with friends on cycling trips. My family’s favourite site in NL. It tends to be either the first site we visit or the last one as we travel via Rotterdam.
Firstly, the site is located in Gelderland, a tranquil agricultural area in the east, bordering with Germany. What it doesn’t offer in breathtaking mountain scenery, it makes up for with the plethora of walking and cycling routes, from which you can discover quaint villages, farms selling local produce and gain easy access to north west Germany if you fancy a slight changeVWT5camperman
