About Landal Sluftervallei

Stunning island location by beaches and dunes

Situated on the stunning Dutch Wadden Islands, Landal Sluftervallei enjoys a very special location next to beautiful sand dunes and just a 15 to 20 minute walk through the dunes on a nature path to a huge white sandy beach. Sluftervallei is on the north side of Texel: the largest of the Wadden islands, and is reached by a short ferry crossing from the Dutch mainland. Getting on the ferry is a really exciting start to the holiday adventure, especially for small children! There is no need to pre-book this ferry you just drive on.

The holiday park enjoys a very relaxed pace and if you’re lucky you’ll see with rabbits and pheasants pottering about between the well laid out bungalow area. The park is next to a nature reserve so you will see plenty of flowers and animals while you are here. And there is plenty to do with young children. The heated indoor pool is ideally suited to small children and has a toddler pool and small slide. There is also a water play area where your little ones can run around and splash and spray each other with water to their hearts’ content!

The park benefits from an all year round children’s entertainment programme along with the on park mascot Bollo the Bear who even has his own house here which toddlers love having a peek in!

The large play area complete with inflatable jumping pillow,  a variety of play equipment and a mini golf area, is handily located just next to the main outdoor bar terrace so you can keep an eye on the children while you enjoy a well earned drink. The snack bar and brasserie are very child friendly and have a lowered down area where children can serve their own food at the buffet bar. There are plenty of high chairs and the buffet area for children has a really good selection of healthy food. Apart from the indoor pool all the other children’s fun is focused on the outdoors as this is a beach resort after all!

There are some lovely walks and bike rides to enjoy close by the park and you can hire a selection of bikes including children’s bikes and children’s seats so you can go off on a family bike ride just like the Dutch do!

Accommodation

The Sluftervallei holiday park has a good selection of 2 and 3 bedroom bungalows ranging from standard to luxury. The luxury units have 2 bathrooms and also come with your own sauna. All accommodations are very well spaced out which affords a good degree of privacy as well as some fantastic views of the dunes.

All units come with fully equipped kitchens, and spacious seating areas inside and out.

There is also a selection of 4, 5 and 6 bedroom units and even a 12 bedroom bungalow if you are travelling with another family or families.

Bungalows come with cots and highchairs, stair gates at the top of the stairs for double storey units and electric plug covers.

“Great location, beautiful beaches, beautiful homes”

Just got back from a long weekend. It was great, this location benefits from the boat trip you need to take to get to the island. Small children are crazy about going on the boat. Even the dads 😉

Baby & Toddler Friendly

Also available on this holiday park are some of the special Landal children’s themed bungalows. Here they have 4 bedrooms and are positioned over 2 floors. This accommodation has a separate children’s bedroom as well as a  baby bath and changing table, toys and other little extras!

To Do

The Island of Texel has over 30km of white sandy beaches so you could spend your holiday on a different beach each day if you wanted! The beaches are all amongst the cleanest and safest beaches in Europe. Many have additional features such as play areas and restaurants and cafes. The beaches and dunes are a key feature but also is the neighbouring Slufter nature reserve; the entrance to which is 4km from the holiday park. De Cocksdorp village is a 30 minute walk away with its cosy cafes, restaurants and shops.

The north of the island is calm and relaxing yet only 20 to 30 minutes drive away from the more hustly bustly southern part of the island with its shopping and bars.

Hop on a boat in the port of Oudeschild, 20 minutes drive away on the south eastern tip of the island and go looking for seals!

Not to be missed is the Labora ice cream parlour just 5 minutes drive away from the park on the other side of De Cocksdorp which does the most amazing ice creams and has a little farm and playground too.
