An enchanting forest setting close to many family attractions
Did you know that gnomes live in the forests in Holland? Busily going about their lives while we are on holiday?! Well, children can dress up with red caps and backpacks and go off in search of the gnomes on this organised trail which starts directly from Landal Miggelenberg.
This enchanting Landal park is set in the heart of the beautiful Hoge Veluwe National Park with direct access into the forest where you can enjoy the many woodland trails and cycle routes. There are even organised guided walks with the forest warden! This is a little bit of woodland paradise in the middle of the Netherlands. What we love about this park is this feeling of being in the middle of nature yet there are so many places to visit within a very short drive. Miggelenberg is a 30 minute walk from the pretty village of Hoenderloo which is just 15km from the city of Apeldoorn. Hoenderloo has places to eat and drink including the popular pancake house ‘T Pannekoekenhuis just a 20 minute walk from the park. Apeldoorn itself is home to the Apenheul monkey zoo and the Juliana Toren attraction park among many other places. The magical Hansel and Gretel pancake house and the fortified town of Harderwijk are also within a 45 minute drive of this park.
At Landal Miggelenberg everything has been created with children in mind, from the indoor pool with toddler area, water jets and little slide to the newly renovated adventure castle playground with bridges and ladders. This is a fairly small park with a central hub where all the activity takes place. You can enjoy a drink on the terrace of the brasserie while the children play. Bollo the bear organises children’s activities and has his own house on park where children can come and say hello and peek inside. Children will also love meeting the animals at the petting zoo and spotting the butterflies in the butterfly garden.
There are activities for the whole family including a 100m zip wire, mini golf, bowling, archery and a wide selection of bike hire (some activities carry an additional charge on this park).
Away from the main hub there are plenty of smaller play areas dotted about as well as lots of open space to run and play between the houses. This is a very well landscaped and well kept park where trees provide shade and privacy so you can enjoy an al fresco meal as a family.
The Hoge Veluwe is a unique area of natural beauty with a complex landscape of forests, purple heath, dunes, red deer, foxes, badgers. Being in the heart of this beautiful region you will probably see rabbits and squirrels from your accommodation.
Landal Miggelenberg offers a selection of comfort and luxury bungalows for 4 up to 18 people as well as sustainably built detached eco accommodations for 8, 10 or 12 people.
For the more adventurous you could even book a stay in the 4 person treehouse which comes complete with a slide to take you back down to the ground!
Spacious in and out and as accommodations are dotted in the woods the trees provide good privacy between the houses.

“Best family vacation”
It was our second family vacation at Miggelenberg Landal park. It’s the best family park we’ve been to. Excellent location, nice staff, excellent facilities. A real paradise for families with kids. It’s located in the middle of a forest, just a few minutes from the De Hoge Veluwe national park. The entertainment center in the park is great- indoor swimming pool, kids playground and etc.
