Review: Landal de Reeuwijkse Plassen and TerSpegelt

The Burns family left us this review of their holiday at Landal de Reeuwijkse Plassen and TerSpegelt. They travelled over on the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry with their 2 children, aged 4 and 6. As well as enjoying the holiday parks themselves they also managed to see a lot of the Netherlands on their holiday. They said:

“Just back from 2 weeks in the Netherlands and had such an amazing time. We got the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam (which had lots going on for the kids: soft play, treasure hunt, cinema etc) and then drove from there to our first accommodation at Landal de Reeuwijkse Plassen.

The accommodation and surroundings were lovely (very traditionally Dutch with lots of canals, farms all around). The kids especially loved playing in the lake which was only a 5 minute walk. The restaurant here was lovely as well. We hired bikes and cycled to Gouda (manageable for my 6 year old) and visited the cheese factory. We also spent a day at the Hague, which was lovely and had a great lunch at one of the beach bars at Scheveningen.

For our second week, we then drove down to Terspegelt, stopping at the Kinderjik windmills on the way. We absolutely loved Terspegelt and could have stayed a lot longer. We hired bikes and cycled through the forest, we spent most days at 1 of the lakes and rented paddleboards and spent a lot of time at the swimming pool as well and indoor sand area. We also visited Efteling and another day, drove for 15 mins in to the town of Lommel in Belgium to visit the chocolate shop which we all loved.
