Just 1.5km from Orvelte Museum Village
Unique to Landal Orveltermarke is its close proximity to Orvelte. Less than 1.5km away, reached on foot or by car, this museum village is centuries old, boasts monument buildings, traditional farmhouses and special shops. A visit to this educational and historical village is a must.
What’s more, if fun in the great outdoors, walks, bike rides and natural surroundings sounds like your kind of holiday destination, then Landal Orveltermarke is just the place for you and your family. With accommodation in the style of traditional Drentse farmhouses, typical for the local area, a feeling of space and immersion into the Dutch culture is created. With so much to do outdoors it’s a wonderful place for young and old. The sense of freedom of space and making your own adventure is yours for the taking.
So what is there to do? How about dipping into the unique natural outdoor pool, complete with lounging and picnic area. Ever heard of football golf? Well, at Landal Orveltermarke you can try this fun family game out first hand (or foot)! As well as a mini golf and pitch and putting course. You will find the natural play area is something the Dutch do so well; encouraging children to engage with their natural surroundings, build rafts, cook bread over a campfire, creating and exploring to their hearts delight. You might want a set of spare clothes or wellies for this activity if your child is one to embrace ‘exploration’ to the full. Dotted about the holiday park are additional play grounds, water games and an air trampoline too.
Older children will love the Technical Trail which invites you to bring, or hire a bmx and challenge yourself to master the bumps, turns and tricks of this 1km track. Do you accept the challenge! There are plenty of excursions into the local nature that can be accessed directly from the holiday park, whether you wish to walk or cycle. Of course, there is always the option to rent a bike, or one of the many other wheeled vehicles on offer from the on-site bike rental.
If you thought the outdoors sounded fun, just wait for what’s on offer indoors! The indoor pool has a toddler and family slide and rapids. Then there is the all new indoor play area (play farm) complete with human sized board games, climbing wall, bowling alley and entertainment room. For us adults who want to keep a keen eye on what our little ones are up to, there is also a nice cafe where you can enjoy drinks, snacks, pizzas and ice-cream.
All of the accommodation is self catering and there’s a good shop on site to cater for your needs. There is also a grocery package and bread service available. If you fancy a night, or afternoon off cooking duties then why not head over to the brasserie for dinner. For a quick bite, there’s always the snack bar too.
With plentiful options for days out and an all year round activities programme Landal Orveltermarke is a great choice for a family holiday. Bollo the bear will be on hand for a high five and a cuddle throughout your stay, always a hit with the younger members of a family! Did you know, if you pop a drawing or letter through the letter box of his house on park, you’ll receive a reply to your home address? It’s these little touches that make for life long memories.
