Review: Roompot Beach Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad

We (Laura and family) stayed at the new Roompot park: Roompot Beach Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad for 3 nights over New Year. We drove the 50 or so mins up from Gent with our Belgian family. We stayed in a luxury house for 10. It was very spacious, had a lovely open plan living and kitchen area and 5 bedrooms. It even had a sauna!

Everything on the park felt brand new and the pool was a surprisingly good size. Our 8 and 6 year olds loved the pool, especially chasing each other around the little lazy river! The 3 waterslides are really impressive and have something for everyone. The tamer slide has flashing lights and the 2 faster ones are quite thrilling!

The main building was decorated with twinkly lights and there were Christmas trees so it felt very festive.

We hadn’t preselected a house and ours was one of the further back ones so the walk to the main hub was about 10 mins. I would recommend if travelling with little ones or if you want to be closer to the beach, to preselect one of the houses closer to the central building. That said there were plenty of little play areas to stop at on our walks!

Our children enjoyed the rope bridge and slides in the indoor play area and playing hide and seek in the large playhouse.

We did a combination of eating in and out. The park supermarket was a decent size and we could get what we needed from there. The food in the park restaurant was good and my children were very excited to be brought our drinks by an actual robot!

As the weather wasn’t great, and it was in the middle of winter we didn’t spend much time on the beach but it was literally over the road and then a short walk along a wooden pathway down to the beach. I bet it is gorgeous in the summer!

I managed to get out on a New Year’s Day run along the coastal cycle path and there are several different entrances to the beach and the little town of Nieuwvliet wasn’t far at all. I love all the Miffy beach posts!

I absolutely love these holidays, whatever the time of year and whatever the weather. There is always so much to do. This is a gorgeous part of the Netherlands and somewhere we would love to return to in the summer months and maybe visit Bruges while we are there.”
