Review: Roompot Beach Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad, Amazing Facilities & Perfect Location!

The Coldrey family (The Exploring Five) visited Roompot Beach Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad as part of their Dutch Easter adventure! They left us this review:

“After our stay at Efteling we drove back south to Zeeland and the Roompot Beach Resort, Nieuwvliet.

This came as a recommendation from a friend who had stayed last summer and we booked it right away. I was so pleased to see it on @littleclogs as I’ve really come to trust their recommendations!

We chose an L6 Comfort cabin and we were really pleased with it. 3 bedrooms, fully kitted kitchen, open plan lounge with a huge corner sofa! Garden furniture and a lockable bike shed.

The facilities on the park are amazing! An indoor swimming pool complex with 3 tube slides, an indoor play and a hangout den for teenagers, no parents allowed! Mini golf, bike hire, Roompot ranger hire (children’s ride on electric cars), numerous playgrounds dotted around everywhere.

And right on the coast!

There is a restaurant and a couple of snack bars… speciality loaded fries!

The shop is also a baker with fresh produce, be prepared to queue for your croissants in the morning though it does move quickly. The restaurant we didn’t try, but we sat in the tastefully decorated central plaza and watched the robot waiter at work! Fascinated the children!

The location is perfect, on the coast but easy reach to so many nice towns and cities. As you are on the Belgium/Holland border you can easily visit Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp. We visited a little town close by called Sluis. A lovely place with a windmill and lots of lovely shops to browse around or have lunch.

We mainly stayed around the park, there is a quirky museum cafe to cycle to not far off site, we went to a restaurant with both a playground inside and out that’s only a 10 min cycle ride. We had a fantastic cycle ride down the coast. The beaches are amazing! Dotted with cafes and the best cycle lanes.

We hardly scratched the surface and we would love a return visit!

The best thing is it’s only 1 hr 40mins drive from Calais! We broke up this journey by spending a few hours in Dunkirk. Visited a museum and lounged at a beachside café while the children played in the sand. Then it was a short drive to catch the ferry.
