Review: Half Term Fun At Molenwaard and Koningshof!

The Nuttall-Basham family and their friends stayed at Family Resort Molenwaard and Koningshof over May half term. This was their second Little Clogs holidays, having visited Landal Amerongse Berg in 2023. Molenwaard is a recent addition to our collection and the Nuttall-Bashams were among the first Little Clogs families to experience it!

They left us this review:

Molenwaard:

Family Resort Molenwaard

“What an incredible place! Despite being the only English people in the resort….and everything being in Dutch as Fien & Teun is based on Dutch characters, it did not disappoint. Everyone was so welcoming and loved that we had come to their resort from England (it’s very rare apparently)!

We did the Stip de Pony ranch experience which was 90 minutes and the kids got to muck out, groom the ponies and then ride them. Amazing soft play onsite which you get unlimited access to. The activities available were good too, but again all in Dutch. Our kids still enjoyed these.

They did nature crafts by building an insect house, PJ party with Fien & Teun, PJ disco, character parade, rowing boats. As well as going to the adventure farm which again had countless activities, rides and experiences!

Accommodation was great. There are playgrounds dotted around the whole park so you can virtually see one from whichever accommodation you stay in.

They also had these cool wagons to pull the kids around in. Brilliant as we didn’t take out pram this time, and they didn’t always want to scoot/bike.”

Koningshof:

“A 10 min drive from a beautiful beach in Katwijk with an awesome fish and chip shop and a nice little town to mooch around.

We hired bikes from Rent-a-Bike Van Dam and went on a wonderful route through the flower fields and over the sand dunes stopped at Strand Noordwijk for a hot chocolate. Brilliant playground for kids and also access to the beach where there were kite surfers.

Koningshof itself was good. Smallish park but has a great pool with indoor splash pad and slide. 2 decent adventure playgrounds and a nice restaurant and shop. The indoor soft play was small and downstairs with limited seating for parents so a bit out of the way of the restaurant if you needed to supervise younger ones.

Really good location for beach, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and the ferry ports.”

“Also the ferry was brilliant! We had a cabin overnight, and on the return journey despite it being the afternoon. Really comfortable and so convenient for the kids not to be stuck in the car whilst driving the whole time whilst they are still little.

We might look at Duinrell next year, looks too good not to!”
