It can sometimes seem like a mammoth task just leaving the house when you have a baby, let alone planning to go away on holiday. The idea of long journeys and being away from all the things you need for your baby can seem overwhelming. This is one of the reasons we launched Little Clogs. We wanted to highlight baby friendly holidays which are close by which aren’t on all the usual baby and toddler holidays websites.
Natural setting: They are all located in beautiful nature, either on the coast or in woodland. These are calm environments for babies with plenty to explore and keep them stimulated.
Baby friendly accommodations: All of the Landal children’s themed accommodations in our collection come with cot, baby bath, highchair, toddler cutlery and crockery and in certain accommodations a changing table, play pen and pull along cart are available. All of the Landal baby friendly accommodations have stair gates, childproof electric sockets and child locks on the cupboards. They also come with toys and games. A selection of the Landal parks in the Hoge Veluwe also have new Baby Bungalows which have additional baby equipment such as play mats, night lights, baby toys and bottle warmer. These are featured on Coldenhove, Rabbit Hill and Landgoed’t Loo. Exclusively on Hof van Saksen you can book a Newborn Farmhouse which comes complete with baby rocker, swinging cradle (and normal cot), bottle warmer and video monitor.
Convenience: Holiday parks have well stocked shops which sell baby essentials such as food, nappies, formula and dummies, they have high chairs in the restaurants and the facility to heat up baby milk and food. If you want to eat at home then the accommodations have fully equipped kitchens where you can do everything at your own pace. Equally at the onsite restaurants there are no set times for eating. You do what suits you.
Baby swimming: You will find warm and shallow indoor pools, with a separate area for babies and toddlers. These often have little slides and toys. At De Lommerbergen there are baby swimming sessions in quieter periods and Hof van Saksen organises baby swimming lessons too.
Baby friendly activities: Holiday parks have indoor and outdoor baby and toddler play areas and many have sandy lake beaches where babies can kick around and feel the sand between their toes. You may also find petting farms where little ones can get up close to some of their favourite animals. Babies will love visiting Bollo the Bear’s house in each park. Here they can peek through the window and see where he lives, ring the door bell and hear his special song or leave a drawing in his letter box. Bollo is also available for a cuddle and a story around the park. Something else we love about all of the Landal parks in our collection is that you can hire family bikes and baby seats and explore the nature that’s on your doorstep. Or just go for a stroll straight into nature with your buggy directly from the park.
Set in the heart of the beautiful Hoge Veluwe National Park Coldenhove has a petting farm, an indoor baby and toddler pool, indoor and outdoor toddler play areas, a butterfly garden and Bollo the Bear. 4 and 6 person children’s bungalows are available.
