Fun-packed toddler theme park close to nature
A cosy and relaxed toddler friendly theme park in the middle of Holland, with over 60 attractions. Children up until about 10 years old will love it here but we think it is ideal for children from around 2 to 5 years. Like most of the amusement parks in this part of the world access to rides is based on the height of children and many rides here are suitable for those under 90cm, accompanied. So toddlers can pretty much go on every ride. It is a cute little park in a woodland location, centred around the Queen Juliana tower which is a listed building on the edge of Apeldoorn, next to the Het Loo palace. Juliana Toren is just 20km from the Hoge Veluwe National Park so it’s a great combination of being in the middle of nature but also the fun and thrills of a theme park (albeit it with tamer rides). You could combine half a day here with half a day cycling around the exploration paths of the National Park. Pick up some of the free white family and children’s bikes which are available in the National Park or go for a walk through the forests or enjoy a safari trip! During July and August the National Park organises special children’s safaris too.
Here is a selection of our favourite rides at Juliana Toren!:
Gnome Wonderland: Sit on the back of a rabbit or a hedgehog and ride through Gnome Wonderland, watching what they are all up to! Children below 90cm are allowed accompanied.
The Flintstones ride: Ride through Flintstones world in Flintstones wagons! Children below 90cm are allowed accompanied.
The Turtle ride: Ride around on the back of turtles and look down at all the gnomes busy carrying on with their day in gnome wonderland. Children above 80cm in height are allowed on this ride.
The Elephant ride: Children can ride up and down on the back of pink and purple elephants- Children below 90cm are allowed accompanied.
The Disney ride: Where you can ride on the back of one of your favourite Disney characters! Children below 90cm are allowed accompanied.
There are plenty of places to eat around the park including one where you can enjoy yummy poffertjes (mini pancakes served warm and dusted with icing sugar) but you might decide you’d rather sit in the picnic area instead and then enjoy some fun in the brilliant playgrounds which are dotted about the park. Your little ones might even fancy jumping between the colourful fountains on a hot, sunny day!
The park is easy to get around with buggies and there are lots of places to change nappies and to stop for feeds.
In our experience the staff have always been super friendly and the children love running up to the park mascots Jul and Julia and giving them a cuddle!
This is a lovely toddler day out just 10km from the Landal Rabbit Hill holiday park and within a 45 minute drive from Landal Miggelenberg, Waterparc Veluwemeer, Coldenhove, Landgoed ‘t Loo and Stroombroek. Children under 2 go free.
“A perfect place for children”
We’ve spent a whole day there with our 3 year old daughter. She was in heaven!
It looks like the facilities are in a very good condition. We haven’t waited in line for more than 5 minutes. Everything in the park was made for children (mostly for the younger ones). Highly recommended!
