Review: Landal Volendam, The Best Holiday!

The Richards family left us this review of Landal Volendam, a child friendly park on the shores of the Markermeer lake, just 10 minutes walk from the traditional fishing village of Volendam and 25 minutes from Amsterdam:

“What an amazing holiday- thanks to Little Clogs! I found Little Clogs through a search online and I’m so glad I did as the recommendations and tips were spot on!

I was a little nervous when planning our trip, as I was going to be mostly solo parenting with my two little ones (6mo and 4 yo) but the recommendations from Little Clogs gave me so much more confidence that we were going somewhere child friendly.

We stayed in Landal Volendam and it totally exceeded our expectations. Cots, high chairs and stair gates were all ready in the house, and there was a sauna and sun shower too which meant we could actually feel like we were on holiday once the kids were in bed! The house we stayed in backed onto a common green area, where kids would play while I could easily watch on, and we frequented the pier to see the ducks just outside our door.

There was so much nearby that I could take the kids to without needing a car. Within 10 minutes walk was a picture perfect Dutch fishing village, playgrounds, a cafe/bar with a playground and toys next to the marina to entertain kids, old windmills in lovely fields and a beach perfect for littles – shallow, sandy, clear water with enough shells to be able to go shell hunting, and a kiosk with toys, ice cream and drinks. The whole area (and probably country!) is super pram friendly too.

Further afield (via car) we took the recommendation from Little Clogs and visited Sprookjeswonderland – WOW! My 4yo was in heaven and keeps asking to go back. Would highly recommend for anyone with small kids.

I have fallen in love with Holland and would go back in a heartbeat!!
