Laid back beach fun in the Ardennes
Landal Village L’Eau D’Heure has a beautiful setting on the shores of the Lac de l’Eau d’Heure in the Chimay region of South Belgium, close to the French border. This region is known as the Lake District of Belgium. Chimay is well known worldwide for its brewery so a visit to sample some of the famous beer might be in order! This holiday village boasts a peaceful lakeside setting, complete with its own sandy lake beach and water activities.
Children will love the great indoor play area with its slides and ball pool and the outdoor playground with toddler rocking equipment and climbing equipment for older children. Young children will enjoy the inflatable jumping pillow and the giant Lego! The on park mascot, Bollo the bear, is ever present here and a full entertainment and activities programme is organised although this tends to mainly be in the summer holidays.
There are various eating options on the park including a takeaway and snack bar and then lots of little restaurants dotted around the lake. The park has a small shop where you can get most of your necessities including warm bread and croissants in the morning. The nearest large supermarket is a 10 minute drive away in Cerfontaine.
What we love about this park is that everything feels well spaced out and there are lots of grassy areas to play and run around on. As Belgium is cycling mad you can also take advantage of family bike hire including children’s bikes and child seats on this park and explore the safe and easy cycle route around the lake, or beyond if you’re feeling more energetic!
Accommodation here is a selection of 2 and 3 bedroom detached and attached bungalows. They are larger than average and enjoy a really good outside grassy area. They all have fully equipped kitchens and a spacious indoor seating area and outdoor terrace. Depending on availability you might be able to book a bungalow with a lake view.
4 and 5 bedroomed units are also available for larger families or families travelling together.
1 car can be parked by each bungalow.

The Relais de Falemprise recreational area on the shores of the L’Eau d’Heure lake is a great day out. Surrounded by woodland and with a sandy beach to relax on there are play areas for ages 1 upwards! With over 15 bouncy castles and inflatable slides and an outdoor café and terrace on the beach this is a very reasonably priced day out. This is a 10 minute drive from the holiday park.
This park is very well located for exploring the wonders of the Ardennes: the walking routes, the caves and the castles. Visit the Chimay castle 20km away and try and catch the ghosts!
Why not take part in a popular Belgian activity- Railbiking! Pedal your own wagons along disused rail tracks through beautiful forests and scenery!
Pairi Daiza zoo is an hours drive away and is one of the most beautiful zoos in Belgium. Set in botanical gardens and themed on the different continents it is a wonderful day out.
A day trip to any of the Belgian cities is possible from here too and being only 30 minutes drive from the French border you can also nip over and visit the Champagne region of North Eastern France.
