We have travelled with a neurodiverse child, a neurotypical child and a small dog. Every step of the way we were guided towards some truly phenomenal spots, each with something exceptional to offer.
Hof van Saksen, I can never stay or pay for a Center Parcs ever again as HVS is in a different league, food, activities, water park, exceptional pools separate from slides, did I mention the food? Really high level accommodation. Beautiful landscaping, feast for your senses.
Landal Beach Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad, the sunsets, the white sandy expansive beach, the lovely pool, separate slides. The pace makes you slow down, perfect for dog lovers. Not as busy as other resorts but sometimes you need that downtime. Lovely private gardens with sun loungers. The peace, you wouldn’t hear a pin drop. The sunsets will take your breath away. Day trips to Belgium very doable. Very in tune with nature, the landscaping and the design, very tasteful.
Efteling, whimsical, majestic a fairy lover’s paradise…makes the parents feel like big kids… have been in summer and winter, both epic. For a neurodiverse child, summer is better due to longer opening hours. This is important for you and your neurodiverse child, that extra 30 mins in the morning if you are staying onsite and the longer opening hour in the evening are the only way our neurodiverse child can access some of the rides. The facility card isn’t great but that has absolutely nothing to do with Little Clogs, who regularly give recommendations on great places for neurodiverse children. We have stayed in Loonsche-Land which we preferred to Bosrijk. This time we are staying in Europarcs Kaatsheuvel due to the dog. The area surrounding Kaatsheuvel and the sand dune national park is quite exceptional. I could write a book on how epic Efteling is!
Beekse Bergen, the Lake Resort has been done up since we stayed. The pool was just lovely the facilities on the actual lake really good. The safari 4 wheel drive was a true highlight our kids really loved it. If going back I would probably stay on the other side as recommended by Little Clogs due to being able to watch the animals whilst having your breakfast.
Duinrell, our kids just really love this place. The variety, the theme park, waterpark, closeness to the lovely village and then 20 mins to the white sandy beach of Scheveningen. I love the standard of the accommodation, the Premium Duingalow with its extras in the bathroom. The streaming platforms all set up on TV , very comfy beds. This year in a more standard Duingalow with the dog but to be able to stay with the dog is such a win. Lots of Irish there, can understand why…I think we love the variety, freedom, diversity, the fact that the kids are so occupied you can truly let your shoulders down. Its not cheap but I think it is very worth it.
Other things we found an outdoor pool about a 10 min drive from Efteling which was really nice if staying in Loonsche Land. I put a review in the Efteling fb group on this. The Hansel and Gretel pancake house, simply exceptional.
We wouldn’t have had any of these experiences without the knowledge and expertise of the girls at Little Clogs Holidays. They have a gift and they share it openly with you in a professional and friendly manner… We are extremely grateful for all of the steers and will definitely continue to use Little Clogs Holidays going forward. As their knowledge is gold dust..trust them you won’t regret it.
