A 5 minute walk to a gorgeous, enormous sandy beach!
Zeeland province in the Netherlands is known for its stunning sandy beaches, wildlife and bustling seaside resorts. At Julianahoeve you can embrace beach life to the full as only sand dunes separate you from an enormous beach. Simply take the path leading from the holiday park and as you rise over the sand dunes you are welcomed by the gorgeous beach ahead, with so much space there’ll be no wrestling for the best spots to set up for a day. But there is something even more special to witness at this beach! The area is home to many seals and they are regularly released from the seal sanctuary along its shores.
At Julianahoeve there is an entertainments program with something for young and old. These activities vary from water aerobics, crafts, a mini-disco, and escape room to laser gaming in the forest. For those who enjoy being a little more active there is also tennis, beach volley and football. Kids will love getting a high five or photo with Juultje the Lobster mascot who can be found around the park with his friends on weekends, bank holidays and throughout Dutch school holidays.
Of course a swimming pool is a must when on a family holiday and Julianahoeve has a great indoor swimming paradise with rapids, a turbo slide and family whirlpool. In the summer months there’s a cool spray park where you can dodge or embrace the fountains, jets and large overhead water tipping bucket. Whilst the kids exert all their energy it’s nice to know that adults can enjoy a little relaxation in the wellness area, take a moment to unwind and enjoy the steam bath, sauna and hot tubs.
The focus at Julianahoeve is clearly ‘family’ with most accommodation types featuring rumble trucks that you can use to carry your beach wares, or toddlers to the beach if they fancy the ride. One particular accommodation has its own indoor playhouse with climbing wall and slide! For those bringing teens or additional adults, the 2 person Kanzi tent is perfect when booked in combination with other Kanszi tents. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the range of accommodation on offer, including beach bungalows and chalets close to amenities and play areas.
This holiday park has been well thought out and you are never far from a place to play, give the children freedom to roam, or run to their hearts’ content on the seemingly endless beach. When it comes to eating out you will even find a play area in the centre of the Eb & Vloed restaurant. This is a great place to eat out if you’d like to try out local dishes. Its all day menu also showcases vegan and vegetarian options. Enjoy the modern interior or the wonderful sunny terrace. In addition to this, there is a self-service restaurant with more familiar snacks, like sandwiches, pizzas, burgers and ice-creams. Let’s not forget the marvellous beach pavilion where you can revel in the views across the island, enjoy a cooling drink, or in colder months snuggle up by the fireplace with a hot chocolate.
For even more fun, kids can make friends and explore the indoor play area, climbing the ropes, travelling along the bridges and creating their own adventures. As parents you can remain hopeful that may mean a good night’s sleep, and if not, it will surely provide tons of fun.
With both woodlands and beaches to explore you’re spoilt for choice at Julianahoeve and can easily get out and enjoy the local area. What better way to do that than by hiring a bike on-site and using the fabulous cycle path systems and routes available.
As much as you have plenty to do in and around the holiday park. There are also pretty towns to enjoy nearby, with Renesse just a 15 minute walk from the park for starters. It’s impossible to visit to Zeeland without checking out its wildlife as it is known as a place where seals, birds and other animals come to bask in the sun and breed. The Oosterschelde National Park, one of the largest in the Netherlands, is the perfect place to start.
