The Scholes family left us this fab review of their stay in the new Landal de Strabrechste Vennen holiday park. This was their 2nd Little Clogs holiday and they were looking for high quality group accommodation close to Eindhoven airport and within easy reach of Toverland and Efteling theme parks. They said:
“Well, I was nervous after reading all the 1* reviews but I really didn’t need to worry! This a smart brand new Landal site with the most luxury accommodation!
We stayed in a sleeps 12 house and it was fab! Nice furniture and fittings a well-stocked kitchen, quooker tap, plus kettle, toaster, espresso machine, combo oven and 5 pan induction hob! Gorgeous lighting and decor and 4 showers and 3 toilets! I really couldn’t care less there was no fish in the fish pond! As per some of the other reviews!
Super straightforward 30 min drive from Eindhoven! We hired cars from Hertz who were fab and car park is just across the road from the airport (there’s also a nice McDonalds which serves Gluten free buns).
At the site there’s a small pool and baby pool (no slides and quite small changing room so we would shower and walk back in our swimmers most days) also table tennis, padel courts, soft play, climbing wall for the older kids and bouncy pillow! A few playgrounds too! Fabulous restaurant looking over the lake, called Montana Creek, chef came to speak to me as my daughter is Coeliac, he advised what would be the best options and ordered in GF pasta for her as he knew we were here all week! He used clean scoops and opened new ice cream for her also! I really appreciated his knowledge and efforts to cater for her! Meaning we could eat easily on site! The food was really good!
The site is gorgeous, with a sandy beach, and a few little play areas dotted amongst the houses too! Nearby is a fab adventure golf, (18 holes) 15 min walk from the site, with a gorgeous restaurant attached, friendly service and excellent food! Also has a sandy play area so kids can play too whilst parents sit and have a drink in view of them!
We went into Someren which was about 5 mins drive away, 3 big supermarkets, Albert Heijn, Jumbo and Lidl! Nice town, and nice restaurants and a few shops! 30 mins away is Toverland which we did in a day and was excellent, I was worried how it would compare to Efteling but it matched it and if you only have one day this smaller park is packed full of indoor and outdoor rides, good app and has a lot to offer – we all enjoyed it!
Can recommend Del Limone for pizza (they also do GF pizza and pasta!) and deliver to site! We would definitely return! The accommodation was excellent! And something for all ages on site! Thanks again Little Clogs for opening our eyes to the beautiful Netherlands! This was the perfect holiday for 3 generations of family aging from 1-70!
