Thanks so much to the Miles family who have sent us this review of their holiday at the luxury Hof van Saksen resort in Drenthe. With 4 children, ranging from 18 months to 15 they were looking for somewhere which catered for all ages, and Hof van Saksen didn’t disappoint! They said:
“We’ve just returned from an amazing 10-day stay at Hof van Saksen, and I felt compelled to leave a review as it exceeded our expectations.
I first discovered Little Clogs on Facebook and hadn’t considered holidays in Holland or Belgium before. When we began planning, I contacted Laura and Jane for advice, as we needed a destination suitable for a wide age range of children—18 months, 8, 11, and 15. They suggested several options, but Hof van Saksen immediately stood out thanks to the water park, lake, and extensive children’s activities.
It turned out to be the perfect choice for our family. The activities catered brilliantly to every age group:
The waterpark was a highlight with its incredible slides (Bombo was the kids’ favourite), and I was really impressed with how attentive and safety-conscious the staff were. It meant we could all relax and enjoy ourselves.
The lake was another standout feature—it gave us that beach feeling without leaving the resort. We loved taking our paddleboard out, while the safe shallow area was ideal for our toddler to splash about.
The only downside was the long journey due to heavy traffic, but once we arrived, it was more than worth it.
We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend Hof van Saksen to families looking for a holiday that genuinely offers something for everyone.”
