Helen Meredith recently stayed at the luxury Hof van Saksen resort in a Children’s Farmhouse with her husband and 2 boys, aged 5 and 1. Hof van Saksen is a brilliant holiday choice for all times of the year. From its world famous waterslides for the older children to its lake side beach and plentiful play areas, indoor and out, Hof van Saksen has something for all ages.
The accommodation is of a very high standard as you will see in this video and there is a great selection of different sized accommodations sleeping from 2 up to 24! The children’s farmhouses come with everything you could need when travelling with young children and they have some extra special touches too.

It’s like Center Parcs only more luxurious, has even better facilities for the kids (most of which is included in your booking or costs just a few euros) and overall a week here has cost us a lot less than 4 nights at a Center Parcs in the UK!
Holland in general whilst perhaps not an obvious choice for most people, is actually a brilliant place to go for a family as the culture over here is sooo family orientated! We came here in summer 2019 for a friends wedding and fell in love with the place. There is just so much to do and see.
I thought I’d give you a little tour of our accommodation at Hof van Saksen as it has been such a brilliant and easy place to stay. We’ve been in one of the children’s farmhouses and it feels grown up enough for my husband and I to enjoy but has everything we need for our 1 and 5 yr olds.
Massive shout out to the epic small business and all round lovely ladies Laura & Jane who run @littleclogs. A travel company specialising in family friendly holidays In Belgium & Holland where they are both from.
We’ve booked 2 holidays with them and they have both been absolutely epic places to stay and no question has been too much trouble. (And with Brexit & Covid to deal with this time round I’ve had a LOT of questions!)
It cost us nothing to book through these guys as the resorts pay them a small commission when they get someone booking via them.
I should say this is in no way an ad, we have paid for everything ourselves I’m just so blown over by the quality and choice here as a kid / baby friendly holiday that I want to share it with you all!)
