Superb pancake house full of magical fairytale features and surprises
As its name suggests this pancake house is centred around the magical fairytale of Hansel and Gretel. It is located a short distance from the motorway and is situated in Zeewolde close to The Veluwe National Park. There are plenty of free parking spaces available at the entrance.
Have you ever wondered what the house of the wicked witch was like and what really happened to the children? Well, this is your chance, only with much more fun and definitely a happy ending. Yes, your children can visit the house of the wicked witch and even try out the cage which they were held in, but this pancake house really has so much more to offer than its title suggests.
Here you will find a wonderful expanse of open space to run around and play. It is set amongst farmers’ fields and away from any main roads. There is a large seated terrace which envelopes around the pancake house and overlooks the play areas. So, you can take a seat, grab yourself a little treat and let your children go off and explore. There is a great selection of playgrounds including sand and water discovery areas. It is possible to get your face painted or simply jump around to your heart’s content on one of the air cushions. However, the large go-kart track where you can try out all manner of pedalled vehicles, drive through a car wash and visit the petrol station is sure to be a huge success. There is plenty here to keep your children amused for hours and this is just the outdoors.
Inside, you enter a magical world of buttons and switches, moving displays, a bubble blowing organ played by a wizard and so so so much more. In fact it really is an experience that should be seen to be believed and will most certainly entertain parents too. Around every corner is a little surprise right down to moving floors!!!!! There is even a cauldron which you can enter to find a secret way to the toilets (albeit for children of school age and older).
Their menu has sweet and savoury pancakes with more toppings than you could possibly imagine but also plenty more to choose from too. It is almost impossible to resist the smell and sight of the home-made apple pies on offer as we are sure you will discover. For children there are also specialty pancakes with a surprise to take home. You can rest assured that your children will have plenty to keep them entertained whilst you await your order.
You will find plenty of high chairs available and the wash rooms have sinks with staggered heights so as all children can reach. Of course there are changing facilities too. On the same level as the toilets you will also find a soft floored area with interactive toys for smaller children to enjoy.
Should you wish to re-live the fairy tale itself then head on over to the other side of the road where you will discover a woodland area where you can actually follow the breadcrumb trail and see what happens next?! It is easy to see how you might come here for lunch and simply spend the day!
We love this place and if you are in the area then we highly recommend a visit here. There are plenty of seating areas, however if you wish to reserve a spot indoors we would advise that you call ahead to reserve a table to avoid disappointment.

In the restaurant, every rope that you pull – something happens ( the floor suddenly goes up, water splashes on you, the music begins to play…) , it’s really cool!
Outside – there are plenty of games for children what makes this place so special.
