A haven of tranquility away from city life: a world of discovery for babies and toddlers!
In the heart of the Dutch countryside lies a Feather Down farm called De Landhoeve. Situated on the edge of the Hoge Veluwe National Park this farm enjoys views over the meadows and is home to cows, goats, chickens, rabbits, pigs and more. Guests are invited to pick strawberries and raspberries which grow on the farm, along with herbs and vegetables for hearty evening meals. You feel like you’re well and truly away from city life here yet you’re only an hour and a quarter from the centre of Amsterdam and all its attractions.
Wendy the host will welcome you with open arms and make sure you are settled in your home from home.
Little ones will love being taken on the tractor around the farm and will be able to get involved, watching the cows being milked and tending to the chickens, and piglets, as well as cuddling the rabbits and guinea pigs in the cuddle barn! They can even rent their own private bunny which you can keep in its hutch next to your accommodation!
Just being in this exciting new environment will be stimulating enough for toddlers and there is so much open space to run around and play in. They will love playing on the haystacks and in the play area, on the swings and trampoline, in the sand and playing on the toy tractors and having fun with the water pump. Wendy also organises treasure hunts and other fun activities to keep little ones entertained.
You can buy food for your evening meal at the farm shop or enjoy the freshly cooked pizzas in the pizza evenings which Wendy organises and which are a great way to get to know the host and her farm more as well as chat to other families staying on the farm.
You can hire family bikes too and explore the many cycle routes in the area.
